Electronic Vehicle Information Center - Description - RHD

DESCRIPTION - RHD





The Electronic Vehicle Information Center (EVIC) features a driver-interactive display (23). The display is located in the lower left part of the instrument cluster below the speedometer (3).

The display in the lower right part of the instrument cluster (13) below the tachometer (11) shows the vehicle odometer related functions. These functions include Trip Odometer (ODO), Trip A and Trip B readouts. The instrument cluster right push-button can be used to scroll through the different odometer functions. The EVIC system conveniently allows the driver to navigate through and select a variety of useful information by pressing the function buttons located on the steering wheel.

The EVIC displays information related to the following:

- Audio mode display

- Compass display

- Fuel saver indicator, Economizer (ECO) display

- Outside temperature display

- Personal Settings (customer programmable features)

- Park Assist System - If Equipped

- System Status

- Trip computer functions

- Tire Pressure Monitor System (TPM) - If Equipped

- Vehicle information warning message displays

The EVIC system is comprised of several different components. Those components are:

- Instrument Cluster, also known as the Cab Compartment Node (CCN)

- Steering Wheel Function Buttons

- Ambient Temperature Sensor

- Remote Compass Module (RCM) - Unless equipped with a Navigational Radio.

- Park Assist Module

- Controller Area Network (CAN) Data Bus

- Local Interface Network (LIN) Data Bus

The EVIC display is part of the Instrument Cluster assembly and is not serviced as a separate component. If the display is inoperative the complete Instrument Cluster assembly must be replaced, Instrument Cluster - Removal.
