Camshaft Position Sensor: Service and Repair
Removal Procedure1. Disconnect the negative battery cable.
2. Remove the engine cover.
3. Disconnect the sensor electrical connector.
4. Remove the power steering pump pulley. Refer to Power Steering Pump.
5. Remove the timing belt upper cover.
5. Remove the camshaft position (CMP) sensor bolts.
7. Remove the CMP sensor from the top.
Installation Procedure
1. Install the CMP sensor and bolts.
Tighten
Tighten the camshaft position bolts to 12 Nm (106 lb.in).
2. Install the timing belt upper cover.
3. Install the power steering pump pulley. Refer to Power Steering Pump.
4. Connect the sensor electrical connector.
5. Install the engine cover.
6. Connect the negative battery cable.
