Cleaning & Inspection
1. Use suitable carburetor cleaning solvent for cleaning. The choke diaphragm, choke heater and some plastic parts of the carburetor can be damaged by solvents. Do not place these parts in any liquid.
2. Clean external surfaces of choke diaphragm, choke heater and plastic parts with clean cloth or soft brush.
3. Shake dirt or other foreign material from plunger side of diaphragm.
4. Remove loose dirt by using compressed air but do not connect air to vacuum diaphragm fitting.
5. If it is difficult to determine if parts are suitable for reuse, replace them.
6. Check for cracks, warpage, stripped screw threads, or damaged or marred mating surfaces on all major castings.
7. Ensure that passages in castings are free of restrictions.
8. Check float assemblies for any condition that would impair operation.
9. Replace throttle valves whose edges are nicked, burred or damaged.
10. Ensure that choke and throttle shafts are not bent or scored.
11. Replace any broken or distorted springs and all screws and lock washers that show signs of stripped threads or distortion.
