Valve Guide: Service and Repair

The valve guides may be removed by pressing out from combustion chamber side. Coat new valve guide with oil and press into cold cylinder head until the shoulder is seated. The replacement valve guides have a shoulder. Do not exert a pressure greater than one ton after valve guide shoulder is seated since shoulder may break. Ream valve guide to .315 - .316 inch.
