SYMPTOM/CONDITION
Air switching solenoid may cause an objectionable clicking noise. This condition occurs during a deceleration and/or acceleration at vehicle speeds above 25-30 mph. The noise is generated by the air switching solenoid when it is energized or de-energized, then transmitted through the body sheetmetal.
DIAGNOSIS
Engine must be at full operating temperature for a minimum of five minutes (for cold lock out and hot restart timer functions). Turn heater/AC off, accelerate and decelerate vehicle above speeds of 25-30 mph. If a clicking noise is heard near the center of the cowl plenum panel, perform the following repair procedure.
