Mixture Control Solenoid: Testing and Inspection

Carburetor Components:

To test the Feedback Solenoid Valve, located in the float bowl of the carburetor, proceed as follows.


1. Disconnect the wiring harness connector (connector M-21).

Feedback Solenoid Valve Test:

2. Apply battery voltage (approximately 12 Volts) between terminals 4 and 5 on the FBSV.
3. If the solenoid valve does not actuate with an audible click, replace the solenoid.

Feedback Solenoid Valve Resistance Test:

4. Measure the resistance between the terminals of the solenoid valve.
5. If the resistance is not between 54 and 66 ohms, at 68° F, replace the solenoid valve.
