Domestic Vehicle Compact Disc (CD) Player Exchange Program
For the 1988 model year, compact disc players will be serviced on an advanced exchange basis. The CD players can be identified by the model number and graphics as shown on page 23. It is important that the following procedure be used when ordering and replacing a CD player, to insure customer satisfaction.1. Verify the complaint with the customer. Use the diagnostic charts listed in the service manual as an aid in determining whether the problem is in the radio, CD player, speakers, or the antenna.
2. After verifying that the problem is in the CD player, an exchange CD player must be ordered from the appropriate exchange center. DO NOT REMOVE THE CD PLAYER AT THIS TIME.
3. Fill out an Equipment Manufacturer's Claim Request Form (EMCR), refer to pages 9 and 10. If a Prior Work Authorization is required, enter this number below the dealer code.
4. Call the appropriate exchange center assigned to your dealership(s) with the information on the EMCR, plus any additional information requested by the exchange center.
