W/Tilt Column

Fig. 3 Ignition Lock Cylinder Removal:

Disable airbag, refer to Air Bags and Seat Belts/Air Bags (Supplemental Restraint Systems)/Service and Repair. After prodedure has been completed, rearm airbag system.

1. Disconnect battery ground cable.
2. Remove turn signal switch, refer to Vehicle Lighting/Turn Signals/Turn Signal Switch/Service and Repair.
3. Remove ignition key lamp.
4. Position ignition lock cylinder in Lock position, then remove ignition key.
5. Insert a thin screwdriver into lock cylinder release slot and depress spring latch which releases lock cylinder, then grasp lock cylinder and remove from column.
6. Reverse procedure to install.
