Idle Up Control Valve: Testing and Inspection
Solenoid Valve Test:
1. Mark vacuum hoses to the solenoid valve and disconnect hoses (white stripe, and yellow stripe) from the solenoid valve.
2. Disconnect the solenoid valve electrical connector.
Throttle Opener Test:
3. Connect a hand vacuum pump to the nipple the white striped hose was on, and apply vacuum. The valve should hold vacuum.
Throttle Opener Test:
4. Apply battery voltage to the solenoid. The valve should release vacuum.
5. Place finger over open nipple with battery voltage still applied. The valve should hold vacuum.
Throttle Opener Test:
6. Measure the resistance of the solenoid coil.
Standard Value: 36-44 ohms
6. If the solenoid valve does not pass all tests replace the valve.
