DRBII Problems and Error Messages
Blank Message Screen1. Connect the DRB II to a different vehicle.
If the message screen is still blank, the DRB II or its cable adapter are at fault. Substitute to determine which.
If the message screen is no longer blank, the DRB II and its adapter cable are OK. Go to step 2.
2. Inspect the Diagnostic Connector for proper wire placement, flaired terminals or push outs.
If the connector is ok, go to step 3.
3. Test the BK/WT ground wire in the Diagnostic Connector for continuity to ground.
"No Response" Message
1. Make sure the ignition switch is turned on.
2. Test the PK and the LG wires for continuity between the Diagnostic connector and cavities 25 and 45 of the Engine Controller 6-way.
3. Install a different DRB II with a different set of cables and check for "NO RESPONSE" message.
4. If steps #1 through #3 do not correct "NO RESPONSE" message, replace engine controller. For MINIVANS include EMR mileage transfer. For vehicles with factory theft alarm, include 20 engine starts.
"RAM TEST FAILURE" Message
1. Replace the DRB II.
CARTRIDGE ERROR" Message
1. Replace the DRB II Cartridge.
"KEY PAD TEST FAILURE" Message
1. Power DRB II up again with fingers off the key pad.
2. If error message persists, replace the ORB II.
"HIGH OR LOW BATTERY" Message
1. Correct the condition and re-connect the ORB II.
