SYMPTOM/CONDITION
Exhaust drone or floor pan vibration, at approximately 2400 rpm (40-55 MPH).
DIAGNOSIS
Test drive the vehicle in the 40-55 MPH range to verify the presence of a mechanical vibration from under the floor pan area in front of the first bench seat. The vibration will also be present if the engine is run through the 2350-2450 RPM range with the transmission in neutral.

4 Screw & Washer Assembly PN 6501305
4 U-Nut PN 6101283
REPAIR PROCEDURE
1. Remove exhaust system insulator shoulder bolts from muffler support bracket, allowing the exhaust insulators to remain on the muffler.
2. Remove the muffler support bracket, crossmember, and heat shield.
3. Install new heat shield, using the fasteners just removed.
4. Install crossmember using screw and washer assembly (PN 6501305). Torque assembly to 250 +/- 50 in. lbs., washer should bottom out on sleeve.
5. Attach new muffler support bracket (PN 4427295) to crossmember using new U-nuts (PN 6101283) and the existing fasteners. Torque to 250 +/- 50 in. lbs.
6. Attach U-nuts (PN 6101283) to the muffler support bracket, install the exhaust insulators to the bracket with original shoulder bolts. Torque to 250 +/- 50 in. lbs.
7. Road test vehicle to verify the condition has been corrected.
