SYMPTOM/CONDITION:
Wheel center cap is missing from the wheel.
PARTS REQUIRED:
REPAIR PROCEDURE:
This bulletin involves installing a stainless steel retainer in the wheel center caps or replacement of wheel center caps with revised caps.
1. For wheels with center cap missing, install revised wheel center caps that include the retainer.
2. If there are wheels on the vehicle that have the center cap intact, raise the vehicle on a hoist and remove those wheels.
3. Remove the center caps.
**4. Apply a 1/8" bead of silicone rubber adhesive, P/N 4318025, to the back side of the wheel center cap retainers, P/N 4472535, (refer to the illustration for proper orientation of retainer to cap), so that it encircles the hole in the center of the retainer.**
5. Press the retainer into the center caps.
6. Reinstall center caps with retainers into the wheels.
7. Reinstall the wheels and torque lug nuts to 129 N-m (95 ft.lbs.)
