B. Replace Middle Seat Right Outboard Seat Belt Anchor Clip
1. Inspect the middle seat, right outboard seat belt anchor clip for the number of rivets retaining the spring clip to the anchor (Figure 4).
^ If the anchor clip has TWO (2) rivets, no further action is required.
^ If the anchor clip has ONE (1) rivet, proceed with Step 2 to replace the anchor clip.
2. Disconnect the right outboard seat belt anchor hook from the floor or C-Pillar anchor (Figure 5).
3. Insert the supplied Scabbard Cutting Guide between the seat belt scabbard and the webbing (Figure 6).
4. Cut the top side of the scabbard along the guide line with a utility knife.
IMPORTANT:
DO NOT cut the seat belt webbing or the seat belt assembly must be replaced.
5. Remove the scabbard cutting guide.
6. Insert the Scabbard Cutting Guide between the scabbard and the webbing on the other side of the belt (Figure 6).
7. Cut the bottom side of the scabbard along the guide line with a utility knife.
IMPORTANT:
DO NOT cut the seat belt webbing or the seat belt assembly must be replaced.
8. Remove the scabbard cutting guide. Remove and discard the cut-off piece of the scabbard.
IMPORTANT:
If the two cuts made with the tool did not completely cut the side edges of the scabbard, cut the edges AWAY from the seat belt webbing. DO NOT cut the seat belt webbing or the seat belt assembly must be replaced.
9. Using a 1/8" drill bit, remove the head from the anchor spring clip rivet (Figure 7).
10. Remove and discard the rivet and spring clip (Figure 7).
11. Install the provided spring clip and clip retainer as shown in Figure 8. Make sure that the dimple on the clip retainer is aligned with the lower hole on the spring clip.
12. Secure the spring clip and retainer to the anchor hook with the supplied rivet. DO NOT USE ANY OTHER SIZE OR TYPE OF RIVET.
NOTE:
The rivet is stainless steel and may require use of a high quality rivet tool.
13. Using a ball peen hammer, peen the rivet to ensure that it is tightly staked.
14. Reconnect the anchor hook to the floor or C-Pillar anchor position.
