Lamp Assembly
This Bulletin applies to LX, ES, and Town and Country models.
MODELS:
1991-1992 (AS) CARAVAN/GRAND CARAVAN
VOYAGER/GRAND VOYAGER/TOWN & COUNTRY
SYMPTOM/CONDITION:
Moisture may accumulate inside fog lamps. Fog lamps date coded prior to 2521, 252nd day of 1991 (September 9, 1991) are affected. The fog lamp date code is on the underside of the lamp housing.
DIAGNOSIS:
Fog lamps that have moisture,on the inside of the lens or water puddled in the bottom of the lamp housing, and the fog lamp is not cracked or broken, should have the following procedure performed.
PARTS REQUIRED:
1 Seal (per lamp) 4576416
REPAIR PROCEDURE:
This procedure involves installing a new fog lamp lens seal and drilling two vent holes.
1. Remove the fog lamp from the vehicle by removing the two screws.
2. Remove the Outer Housing from the Reflector Housing and Lens.
3. Remove the Bulb Retainer Cup from the Reflector Housing and Lens.
4. Drill two 1/4 inch (6 mm) diameter holes in the Outer Housing as shown in
Figure 1. If the holes have already been drilled, proceed to the next step.
5. Install the seal, PN 4576416, onto the bulb retainer cup and assemble the lamp assembly.
6. Install the fog lamp on the vehicle and aim the lamp using the procedure described in the appropriate service manual.
