Safety Recall # 742 -- Seat Belt Buckle Clips and Anchor Clip
^ This service requirement applies only to 1991 through 1993 model year Dodge Caravan and Grand Caravan; Plymouth Voyager and Grand Voyager; and Chrysler Town & Country (AS) minivans built through April 8, 1993 (MDH 0408XX).
^ Two seat belt related conditions exist on the above listed vehicles:
^ The buckle cover on the front and rear quad (bucket) seat belt buckle assemblies may dislodge from the buckle mechanism and cause the buckle release button to stick. A stuck release button may cause the buckle to be only partially latched. To correct this condition, a buckle cover retaining clip must be installed on the front and, if equipped, rear quad (bucket) seat belt buckles.
^ The middle seat, right outboard, seat belt anchor clip may move out of position and allow the seat belt to become disengaged from the floor or body anchor. To correct this condition, the seat belt anchor clip must be replaced with a revised clip and retainer.
^ Dealers are encouraged to consider alternative scheduling and servicing approaches for this recall. This repair does not require hoists or other full service facility special equipment and is a CHRYSLER MOBILE SERVICE approved repair.
Parts Packages:
^ Each involved dealer, to whom vehicles in the recall were invoiced, will receive enough Seat Belt Buckle Clip Packages to service about 25% of those vehicles. Uninvolved dealers will receive one package each.
In addition, all dealers will receive 50 Quad Seat Buckle Cover Retention Clips, enough to service the rear quad (bucket) seats of 25 vehicles.
^ Every Dodge and Chrysler-Plymouth dealer will also receive one (1) reusable Scabbard Cutting Guide that is required to perform this recall.
