SAFETY RECALL - TURN SIGNAL FLASHER

Dear Chrysler Corporation Vehicle Owner:

This notice is sent to you in accordance with the requirements of the National Traffic and Motor Vehicle Safety Act.

Chrysler Corporation has determined that some 1991 model Dodge Caravan C/V vehicles fail to conform to Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard No. 108 (Lamps, Reflective Devices and Associated Equipment). These vehicles may not meet the turn signal lamp failure indication requirements of the standard because an incorrect turn signal flasher was installed.

The standard requires the instrument panel turn signal indicator light to remain on without flashing if a turn signal lamp is burned out. On affected vehicles, the indicator light may flash at a normal rate even if a lamp is burned out.

Your vehicle, identified on the enclosed form, is affected. For this reason we ask that you arrange for replacement of the turn signal flasher in your vehicle without delay, using the correct flasher which is enclosed.

You may install the new flasher yourself to avoid any inconvenience. Instructions for installing the flasher are printed on the reverse side of this letter.

If you prefer not to perform the installation yourself, contact your dealer to make an appointment for the flasher to be installed. The service will be provided free of charge and will take about one-half hour to complete. However, additional time may be required depending on how dealer appointments are scheduled and processed. Take the enclosed Owner Recall Notification Form and the flasher with you at the time of your appointment and give them to your dealer. The form identifies the vehicle and recall for which this service is required.

If you have any problem obtaining the needed service, piease contact the Chrysler Zone Service Office in your area. (It is listed under "Service Assistance" in your Owner's Manual.) A Zone representative will arrange for prompt correction of your vehicle.

We regret any inconvenience which this action may cause you. However, we believe that you understand our concern for motor vehicle safety, and for your continued satisfaction with our products. If your dealer fails or is unable to remedy this defect without charge within a reasonable time, you may submft a written complaint to the Administrator, National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, 400 Seventh Street, S.W., Washington, D.C. 20590, or call the Toll Free Auto Safety Hotline at 1-800-424-9393. (Washington D.C. area residents may call 366-0123.)

Thank you for your attention to this important matter.
