NO.: 23-47-93GROUP: Body
EFFECTIVE DATE: Sep. 17, 1993
SUBJECT:
Side Vent Glass Contacts Sheet Metal
MODELS:
1991 - 1993 (AS) Caravan/Grand Caravan/Caravan CV Voyager/Grand Voyager/Town & Country
SYMPTOMICONDITION:
Driving over rough road surfaces may cause either side vent glass to contact the body sheet metal. A sharp bang or snap sound will result if a side vent glass contacts the body sheet metal.
DIAGNOSIS:
Open the suspect side vent glass and inspect for urethane isolators attached to the body sheet metal at the upper and lower rear corners of the window aperture. If no isolators are found on the body sheet metal, perform the repair procedure. If isolators are found on the body sheet metal, use the palm of your hand to tap the rear corners of the glass quickly 4 or 5 times. If no contact is heard, the source of the sound is not the side vent glass contacting the body sheet metal. If contact is heard, perform the repair procedure.
