SYMPTOM/CONDITION:

Some of the early built 1991 Daytona CS, ES and Shelby models, equipped with 15 or 16 inch wheels, may exhibit front tire-to-front bumper lower fascia contact when turning at low speeds. All involved vehicles were built prior to MDH 091408. The bumper lower fascia on the ES and Shelby models is dealer installed.

Contact may occur when the steering wheel is turned 1/2 turn from center in either direction on right turns, the outer edge of the left front tire may contact the fascia on the left side of the vehicle. On left turns, the outer edge of the right front tire may contact the fascia on the right side of the vehicle.

ES and Shelby models in dealer stock can be inspected with or without the bumper lower fascia installed. The inspection procedure and repair procedures for the CS and ES/Shelby models have been developed as follows.
