Control Module: Service and Repair

Transmission Control Unit Location (Automatic Transaxle (4-Speed):

1. Disconnect the negative battery cable.
2. Remove the front center console.
3. Disconnect the electrical connectors from the Transmission Control Unit.
4. Remove the screws and remove the TCM.
5. Reinstall in reverse order.

CAUTION: Do not connect or disconnect the TCM connectors with the negative battery cable connected. A minor spark or voltage surge can damage the TCM.
