Distributor Assembly Replacement

REMOVAL:
1. Disconnect battery ground cable.
2. Remove distributor cap retaining screws and seal ring.
3. Place No. 1 cylinder to TDC of compression stroke. Place a mark on distributor body indicating position of rotor.
4. Disconnect wiring harness from distributor lead wire.
5. Remove distributor mounting nuts, then the distributor assembly from engine.

INSTALLATION:
1. Turn the crankshaft so that the No.1 cylinder is at top dead center.

Alignment Marks:

2. Align the distributor housing and gear mating marks.

Distributor Keyway:

3. Install the distributor with the ,coupling key fitted in the keyway on the end of the camshaft.

Distributor Installation Mark:

4. Install the distributor to the engine while aligning the fine cut (groove) on the distributor's installation flange with the center of the distributor installation stud.
5. Check ignition timing, refer to ADJUSTMENT PROCEDURES section.
