Ignition Lock Cylinder Housing Replacement

Fig 45 Lock Cylinder Housing Mounting Screws:

REMOVAL
1. Disarm airbag as outlined under "Precautions."
2. Remove upper and lower column covers.
3. Remove tilt lever.
4. Remove ignition switch as outlined under "Ignition Switch, Replace."
5. Center punch the tamper-proof screws.
6. Using a 1/4 inch drill bit, drill out the screw heads.
7. Remove lock cylinder housing from steering column.
8. Use suitable pliers to remove bolts from steering column.

INSTALLATION
1. Position lock cylinder housing on steering column.
2. Tighten new tamper proof screws until head twist off.
3. Install ignition switch, tilt lever and upper and lower column covers.
4. Rearm airbag as outlined under "Precautions."
