Starting System: Service Precautions

Before starting any tests, ensure the battery is fully
charged and that all connections are good, then disable ignition system as follows:
1. On models equipped with distributor ignition system, disconnect ignition coil cable from distributor cap. Connect a suitable jumper wire between coil cable end terminal and a good body ground.
2. On models equipped with direct ignition system, disconnect ignition coils electrical connector.
