Stabilizer Bar: Service and Repair

Independent Front Suspension
1. Raise and support vehicle, then disconnect link from lower suspension arm and stabilizer bar.
2. Disconnect stabilizer bar clamps from frame rails and remove bar.
3. Reverse procedure to install, noting the following:
a. Ensure bar is centered in frame.
b. Torque stabilizer bar bolts to 35 ft-lbs. and link nuts to 25 ft-lbs.

Link/Coil Suspension
1. Raise and support vehicle, then disconnect stabilizer bar links from axle brackets.
2. Disconnect stabilizer bar from links, then remove stabilizer bar clamps from frame rails and lower bar from vehicle.
3. Reverse procedure to install, noting the following:
a. Ensure bar is centered in frame.
b. Torque stabilizer bar bolts to 35 ft-lbs. and link nuts to 27 ft-lbs.
