Suspension: Description and Operation
Fig. 6 Independent Front Suspension:
This truck is equipped with either a link/coil front suspension or an independent front suspension. On models equipped with link/coil system, wheels are mounted to knuckles with a non-serviceable hub and bearing assembly. Steering knuckles pivot on replaceable [1][2]ball studs attached to axle tube yokes and caster and pinion angle adjustments are made with cam bolts located at the axle. On models with the independent front suspension, replaceable suspension arm ball studs are pressed into the arms and the upper arm has a pivot bar mounted to a frame bracket. This bracket is where caster and camber adjustments are made.
