Safety Recall # 748 -- Fuel Tank Rollover Valve

^ This service requirement applies only to 1994 through 1996 model year Dodge Ram (BR) trucks equipped with a gasoline engine built through:

^ December 12, 1995 (MDH 121 2XX) at the Warren and St. Louis Truck Assembly Plants ("S" or "J" in the 11th VIN Position); or

^ March 7, 1996 (MDH O3O7XX) at the Lago Alberto and Saltillo Truck Assembly Plants ("M" or "G" in the 11th VIN Position).

^ Liquid fuel may pass through the fuel tank rollover valve (mounted in the fuel pump module) on the above listed vehicles, and fill the evaporative canister. This may result in driveability problems, fuel odor and/or fuel leakage from the canister. To correct this condition, the fuel pump module mounted rollover valve must be replaced.

^ Effective immediately all repairs on involved vehicles are to be performed according to this Recall Notification. The Labor Operation Number for TSB 25-03-97 is being canceled.

Parts Packages:

^ Each involved dealer, to whom vehicles in the recall were invoiced, will receive enough Rollover Valve Packages to service about 25% of those vehicles.
