Air Injection: Testing and Inspection









CAUTION: If the pulsed secondary air injection valve is broken, exhaust gases will be drawn back into the system.

PULSED SECONDARY AIR INJECTION SYSTEM - INSPECTION
Disconnect the pulsed secondary air injection hose from the air cleaner and place a small steel plate against the end of the hose.
- Check the amount of secondary air intake (vacuum) while the engine is at idle.

Engine Coolant Temperature / Engine status / Secondary Air Intake
60°C (140°F) or more:
- Right after starting engine Yes
- 20 or more seconds later No
