Middle Row Seat - Interchangeability

NO: 23-67-94

GROUP: Body

DATE: Sep. 23, 1994

SUBJECT:
Middle Row Seat Interchangeability

MODELS:

1994 - 1995 (AS) Town & Country/Caravan/Voyager
1994 - 1995 (ES) Chrysler Voyager (European Market)

DISCUSSION:

Although Chrysler Corporation does not recommend the changing of the seating configuration (two passenger vs. quad seats) after the vehicle has been built, it is realized that this does occur.

The outboard half of the middle row right seat belt and floor mats are different depending on seating configuration.

In order to ensure maximum customer comfort and satisfaction, anytime the middle row seating configuration is changed from the quad seats to two passenger seats or vice versa, the right seat belt outboard half and floor mats MUST also be changed.

TWO PASSENGER seats must use one piece "U"- shaped floor mats (refer to the appropriate parts catalog for correct part number) and seat belts with label numbers as listed above.

QUAD seats must use two piece floor mats (refer to the appropriate parts catalog for correct part numbers) and seat belts with label numbers as listed above.

If the seating configuration is changed by either ordering a new seat(s) or exchanging seats from one vehicle to another, DIAL Function 81 (option update) must be used to report the changes made (refer to Warranty Bulletin D-94-23 dated September, 1994). Reporting the changes will ensure the accuracy of Corporate vehicle records.
