Scheduled Maintenance Inspection

NOTE: Service and general information labels about the air bag system can be found on the driver's sun visor, the glove box door, and in the engine compartment.

WARNING: Failure to have the air bag system properly, may lead to possible injury in the event of an accident.

Inspection of the mechanical and electrical components of the system is included in the regular maintenance service recommended for every 3 years or 30,000 miles.

Inspection


1. Inspect airbag module housing for signs of physical damage or abuse.
2. Inspect front impact sensors and ensure they are properly installed.
3. Turn ignition switch to the ON position. The airbag warning lamp should be illuminated and go out after 10 seconds.
^ If lamp fails to operate as specified, test the system using a scan tool.
