D. Install the Liftgate Trim Panel

1. Position the trim panel on the liftgate and engage the 17 clips around the perimeter of the panel.





2. Install the five provided push pins along the top of the trim panel (Figure 10).

3. For 1987 through 1990 MY only: Install the two screws in the lower trim panel corners (Figure 10).

4. Install the assist handle with the two screws (if equipped). Install the handle screw plugs.

5. Route the courtesy lamps through the trim panel and install the courtesy lamp assemblies and lenses.

6. Close the liftgate and verify that the latch and solenoid (if equipped) operate properly.
