C. Adjust the Striker Height
1. Apply white lube to the inside (striker) edge of the latch rotor (Figure 3).2. Close and then reopen the liftgate.
3. Measure the distance on the liftgate latch striker from the top of the latch rotor white lube witness mark to the top of the black plastic portion of the striker (Figure 4).
4. If the distance is greater than 3/16" (4.5 mm), no striker height adjustment is required. Continue with Step D.
5. If the distance is less than 3/16" (4.5 mm), adjust the striker as follows:
a. Remove the liftgate opening sill trim.
b. Mark the position of the striker1 then remove the striker.
c. Install the two provided shim washers on the threaded portion of the striker.
IMPORTANT:
Do not use more than two shim washers.
d. Reinstall the striker. Torque to 350 in-lbs (40 Nm).
Note:
Make sure striker is aligned with location mark to ensure proper striker position.
e. Reinstall the liftgate opening sill trim.
