3 Speed Automatic

Fluid and filter changes are not required for average passenger car use. Severe usage such as commercial type usage or prolonged operation in city traffic, requires fluid be changed and bands adjusted every 15,000 miles.

1. Raise and support vehicle, then place a large drain pan under transaxle oil pan.
2. Loosen transaxle oil pan attaching bolts, tap one corner of pan with a soft mallet to break seal and allow fluid to drain, then remove oil pan.
3. Replace oil filter and gasket. Tighten screws to specifications.
4. Adjust bands.
5. Clean oil pan and magnet, then install pan with new gasket. Tighten bolts to specifications.
6. Add correct quantity and type of fluid through the filler tube.
7. Start engine and idle for at least two minutes, then with parking brake applied and brake pedal depressed, move selector lever momentarily to each position. Place selector lever in Park or Neutral and check fluid level. Add fluid to bring level to 1/8 inch below Add mark.
8. Recheck fluid level after transaxle has reached operating temperature (180°F). Level should be between Add and Full marks.
