Pinout Values and Diagnostic Parameters

1. Disconnect 60-way connector at engine controller.
2. Connect negative lead of voltmeter to ground near controller, then turn ignition switch to the On position.

Fig. 3 Engine Controller 60-way Connector Terminal Identification:

3. Connect positive lead of voltmeter to cavity of terminal 53. With the speed control switch in the Off position, voltmeter should indicate zero volts.
4. With speed control switch in the On position, voltmeter should indicate battery voltage. If not, repair main harness as necessary.
5. Place positive lead of voltmeter to cavity of terminal 33. With the speed control switch in the Off position, voltmeter should indicate zero volts.
6. With speed control switch in the On position, voltmeter should indicate battery voltage.
7. If no voltage is present, repair wire between terminal 33 and terminal 4 of speed control servo.
8. Connect positive lead of voltmeter to cavity 48. With the speed control switch in the Off position, voltmeter should indicate zero volts.
9. With speed control switch in the On position, voltmeter should indicate battery voltage.
10. Press the Set button. This should cause the voltmeter to switch from indicating battery voltage to zero volts for as long as the switch is held. If not, perform "Speed Control Switch Test." If the switch is satisfactory, repair wire between pin 48 and speed control switch.
11. Place positive lead of voltmeter to cavity of terminal 50. With the speed control switch in the On or Off position, voltmeter should indicate zero volts.
12. With switch in the On position, press Resume button. Battery voltage should be read as long as button is held. If not, perform "Speed Control Switch Test."
13. If switch is satisfactory, repair wire between pin 50 and speed control switch.
14. Place positive lead of voltmeter to cavity of terminal 49. With switch in the Off position, voltmeter should indicate zero volts.
15. With switch in the On position, voltmeter should indicate battery voltage.
16. If voltage is not indicated, repair wire between terminal 49 and speed control switch.
17. Using an ohmmeter, connect one lead to body ground, then the cavity of terminal 29.
18. With the brake pedal released, the meter should indicate continuity. When pedal is depressed, the meter should indicate an open circuit.
