SYMPTOM/CONDITION:
The position of the manual seat cannot be adjusted. Because the manual seat adjuster release handle on bucket seats is angled upward, the seat is locked in place and cannot be released or moved enough to release the seat adjuster. Figure 1
DIAGNOSIS:
Sit in either front bucket seat and attempt to adjust seat forward or rearward using the adjuster handle. If adjuster release handle movement is restricted by seat cushion frame, proceed to repair procedure.
PARTS REQUIRED:

REPAIR PROCEDURE:
This bulletin involves the replacement of the manual seat adjuster assembly.
1. Remove the seat from the seat riser as described in the Ram Van/Wagon Service Manual (Publication Number 81-370-5107) page 23-66.
2. Remove seat adjuster (release handle side) from seat track by removing 2 mounting bolts from cushion frame and disconnecting the release wire. Figure 2
3. Install new adjuster by torquing the 2 mounting bolts 22.4N.m (200 in.lbs ) to the cushion frame and reconnecting release wire.
4. Install the seat assembly by referring to page 23-66 of the Ram Van/Wagon Service Manual.
5. Repeat above steps on other seat if necessary.
