Brake Warning Lamp Circuit Operation

Circuit G5 supplies power to the brake warning lamp. There are several ground paths available for the lamp.
- When the case grounded brake warning switch CLOSES, it supplies ground for the brake warning lamp through circuit G9 (ABS) or G14 (RWAL).
- When the case grounded parking brake switch CLOSES, it supplies ground for the brake warning lamp through circuit G9 (ABS) or G11 (RWAL).
- When the ignition switch is in the START position, it supplies ground for the brake warning lamp.

If the vehicle is equipped with Rear Wheel Anti- Lock (RWAL) brakes, circuit G11 provides an input to the RWAL module and splices to circuit G9.
If the vehicles is equipped with all wheel Anti-Lock Brakes (ABS), circuit G9 continues to the ABS control module.
