Owner Letter
SAFETY RECALL TO INSPECT YOUR VEHICLE'S REAR OUTBOARD SEATBELT ANCHORS AND REPOSITION THEM IF NECESSARYDear Cirrus or Stratus Owner:
This notice is sent to you in accordance with the requirements of the National Traffic and Motor Vehicle Safety Act.
The Administrator of the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) has decided that some 1995 Chrysler Cirrus and Dodge Stratus vehicles fail to conform to Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard (FMVSS) No. 210 -- Seat Belt Anchorages. The Administrator's decision has been upheld by the U.S. District Court.
The problem is...
The rear outboard seat belt anchors on your Cirrus or Stratus (identified on the enclosed form), fail to conform to FMVSS No. 210. Failure of a seat belt anchor will result in the loss of seat belt protection, which could lead to serious injury or death in the event of a crash.
What Chrysler and your dealer will do...
Chrysler will repair your Cirrus or Stratus free of charge (parts and labor). To do this, your dealer will inspect the rear outboard seat belt anchors and reposition them if necessary. The work will take less than 1A hour to complete. However, additional time may be necessary depending on how dealer appointments are scheduled and processed.
What you must do...
^ Simply contact your dealer right away to schedule a service appointment.
^ Bring the enclosed Owner Notification Form with you to your dealer. It explains the required service to the dealer.
