1996 Model Year Dodge Caravan and Grand Caravan; Plymouth Voyager and Grand Voyager; and Chrysler Town & Country (NS) Minivans Equipped With Integrated Child Seats Built From:

^ June 29, 1996 Through July 2, 1996 (MDH 062909 Through 070222) at the St Louis Assembly Plant ("R" in the 11th VIN Position)

^ June 28, 1996 Through July 3, 1996 (MDH 062811 Through 070306) at the Windsor Assembly Plant ("R" in the 11th VIN Position)

The referenced DMAIL message instructed dealers to perform the repair. Notification letters are now being mailed to owners of involved vehicles for which this service has not yet been completed according to our records.

The screws which attach the integrated child seat to the bench seat frame on the above vehicles may break. To correct this condition, the integrated child seat attaching screws must be replaced.

IMPORTANT:
Some of the involved vehicles may be in dealer new vehicle inventory. Federal law requires you to complete this recall service on these vehicles before retail delivery. Dealers should also consider this requirement to apply to used vehicle inventory. and should perform this recall on vehicles in for service as determined by using DIAL System Function 70 or VIP.

Service Procedure Videotape

Dealer Notification & Vehicle List

Involved dealers: Each dealer to whom involved vehicles were invoiced (or the current dealer at the same street address) will receive a copy of this dealer recall notification letter and a list of the involved vehicles by first class mail.

The Vehicle List is arranged in Vehicle Identification Number (VIN) sequence. Owners known to Chrysler are also listed. The lists are for dealer reference in arranging for service of involved vehicles.

All other dealers: Each Dodge and Chrysler-Plymouth dealer who does not receive a Vehicle List will receive a copy of this dealer recall notification letter by first class mail.

DIAL System Functions 53, 70 and VIP

All involved vehicles will be entered to DIAL System Function 70 and VIP at the time of recall implementation for dealer inquiry by VIN as needed.

A new DIAL function -- Function 53-- has been developed to display only incompleted vehicle information for involved dealers by recall number. Part number information and owners known to Chrysler are also listed. Involved vehicles will be removed from Function 53 within several days after dealer submission of the repair claim. To use Function 53, type "53" at the ENTER FUNCTION prompt, then type "ORD695" to view your dealer's involved VIN list.

Important:
Due to the small number of involved vehicles, no parts will be distributed initially to involved dealers. Dealers may order Child Seat Attaching Screw Packages, Recall PN CBA06950 as needed to support customer demand.

Each parts package contains the following components:

Owner Notification and Service Scheduling

All involved vehicle owners known to Chrysler are being notified of the service requirement by first class mail. They are requested to schedule appointments for the service with their dealers. A copy of the owner notification letter is included.

Enclosed with each owner notification is an Owner Notification Form. The involved vehicle and recall are identified on the form for owner or dealer reference as needed.

Completion Reporting and Reimbursement

Claims for vehicles which have been serviced must be submitted on the DIAL System. Claims submitted will be used by Chrysler to record recall service completions and provide dealer payments.





Use one of the labor operation numbers and time allowances as shown.

Add the cost of the recall parts package plus applicable dealer allowance to your claim.

Vehicle Not Available

If a vehicle is not available for service for a known reason, let us know by filling out the pre-addressed Vehicle Disposition Form portion of the Owner Notification Form or describe the reason on a postcard and mail to:
