Service Procedure

1. Close integrated child seats and fold seat back forward.

2. Remove seat back cover.





3. Disconnect child seat lower trim J-clips from seat support and remove screws holding child seat assembly hinges to seat back frame lower rail (Figure 1).

4. Return seat back to upright position.





5. Disengage push-in fasteners holding upper bolster to child seat assembly (Figure 2).





6. Remove screws holding top of child seat assembly to seat back frame upper rail (Figure 3).

7. Separate child seat assembly from seat back.

8. Remove seat pad from velcro attachments and set aside for later use.





9. Position seat back hinge interlock lever over the top of the outboard child seat hinge (Figure 4) on one of the provided child seats. Then, place in position on seat back.





10. Using the provided screws, start all four screws which secure child seat to seat back frame lower rail (Figure 5) and upper rail (Figure 6).





11. Torque all four screws to 70 in-lbs (8 Nm).





12. Remove and discard the old upper bolster push-in fasteners. Install the provided fasteners and secure the upper bolster to the child seat assembly (Figure 7).

13. Attach original seat pad to the new child seat using the velcro fasteners. Tuck the top of the pad under the upper bolster.





14. Install the seat belt anti-chafe pads (2) to the belt webbing as shown in Figure 8.

15. Return seat back to folded position.

16. Clip the child seat lower trim pad J-clips to the rear seat support.

17. Repeat Steps 3 through 16 for the other child seat assembly.

18. Install seat back cover.

19. Return seat back to upright position.

20. Verify hinge inter-lock operation by unfolding child seat and trying to fold seat back forward. Seat back should not fold. Then, return both child seats to stowed position and try to fold seat back forward. Seat back should fold.

21. Verify child restraint operation by buckling and unbuckling the latch assembly. Check for locked and unlocked belts respectively.
