A, DATED DEC. 6, 1996, WHICH SHOULD BE REMOVED FROM YOUR FILES AND NOTED IN THE 1997 TECHNICAL SERVICE BULLETIN MANUAL (PUBLICATION NO. 81-699-97010). ALL REVISIONS ARE HIGHLIGHTED WITH **ASTERISKS** AND REVISES THE SUBJECT, REPAIR PROCEDURE AND PARTS REQUIRED.

NOTE:
THIS BULLETIN APPLIES TO VEHICLES BUILT PRIOR TO SEP. 27, 1996 (MDH 0927XX) AT THE ST. LOUIS ASSEMBLY PLANT (LETTER "B" IN THE 11TH POSITION OF THE VIN) AND PRIOR TO OCT. 28, 1996 (MDH 1028XX) AT THE WINDSOR ASSEMBLY PLANT (LETTER "R" IN THE 11TH POSITION OF THE VIN).
SYMPTOM/CONDITION:
A howling, moaning noise from the rear brakes during low speed stops, or wire brush-like noise and/or squealing during any stops. These brake noises can occur at any time, not just the first few stops of the day, like the noise normal overnight corrosion build up can cause.
DIAGNOSIS:
If the vehicle operator describes the subject Symptom/Condition test drive the vehicle to verify. Perform the Repair Procedure if the symptom/condition is experienced during the test drive.
