NO: 23-37-96

GROUP: Body

DATE: June 14, 1996

SUBJECT:
Child Seat Shoulder Harness Will Not Pull Out

MODELS:

1996 (NS) Town & Country/Caravan/Voyager

SYMPTOM/CONDITION:

The shoulder harness of the child seat module seat belt will not pull out (extract from retractor) when the seat belt buckle is unlatched. The child seat module seat belt latch plate must be free to move/retract after the buckle is unlatched. If the latch plate does not retract, the belt retractors will remain locked. Latch plate movement can become restricted due to accumulation of foreign material (food crumbs, coins, toys, etc.) around the latch plate.

DIAGNOSIS:

Open the child seat module and pull forward on the latch plate. Release the latch plate, it should freely snap back to its retracted position, if it doesn't, perform the Repair Procedure.

PARTS REQUIRED:

AR 4318070 Lubricant, Mopar Silicone
