Sliding Door Poor Fit - Low At Rear

SYMPTOM/CONDITION:
The center hinge adjustment setting of the sliding door(s) on some vehicles may change over time so that it becomes too low at the rear of the door. This may cause poor door fit and may chip the paint on the upper rear corner of the sliding door.
DIAGNOSIS:
Visually inspect the sliding door for fitting low at the rear of the door by checking the alignment of the belt line of the door to quarter panel. Also check for chipped paint at the upper rear corner of the sliding door and mating area of the body. If a low fit or chipped paint is found at the upper rear corner of the door, perform the Repair Procedure.
PARTS REQUIRED:
AR (2) 06101675 Nut, Lock
REPAIR PROCEDURE:
This bulletin involves adjusting the sliding door center hinge(s), installing lock nut(s) on the center hinge adjusting bolt(s) and if necessary, touching up chipped paint at the upper rear corner of the sliding door(s) and mating area(s) of the body.
1. Fully open the sliding door and adjust the rear of the sliding door up by turning the center hinge bolt clockwise.
2. Close the door and check the sliding door alignment. Readjust the center hinge if necessary to obtain alignment between the belt line of the sliding door and quarter panel.
3. Fully open the sliding door and thread lock nut p/n 06101675 onto the center hinge bolt until it butts up against the welded on nut of the center hinge.
4. Torque the lock nut to 15 Nm (130 in. lbs.). It may be necessary to hold the center hinge bolt to prevent it from turning while torquing the lock nut against the welded on nut of the center hinge.
5. If necessary, touch up chipped paint at the upper rear corner of the sliding door and mating area of the body.
6. If equipped, repeat steps 1 through 5 for the left sliding door.
