Compressor HVAC: Service and Repair

REMOVAL
1. Disconnect the battery negative remote cable.
2. Loosen and remove drive belt.
3. Disconnect compressor clutch wire lead.
4. Recover refrigerant system with R-134a recovery unit.

5. Remove refrigerant lines from compressor.

6. Remove compressor attaching bolts.

7. Remove compressor.

INSTALLATION
1. Position the compressor on the mount.
2. Install the compressor attaching bolts. Tighten bolts to 41 Nm (30 ft lb) torque.
3. Install drive belt.
4. Install refrigerant hoses and new seals.
5. Connect the clutch wire.
6. Charge the system.
7. Connect the negative cable to the battery.
