Repair Procedure

THIS REPAIR IS COMPATIBLE WITH DAIMLERCHRYSLER'S MOBILE SERVICE PROGRAM AND DOES NOT REQUIRE HOISTS OR OTHER FULL SERVICE FACILITY SPECIAL EQUIPMENT.

1. Disconnect and isolate the negative battery cable remote terminal.

2. Remove wiper arms (LH only).

3. Remove cowl screen (LH only).

4. Remove cowl plenum (LH only).

5. Disconnect air plenum from throttle body.

6. Remove throttle cable bracket.

7. Disconnect electrical connectors.

8. Disconnect top vacuum hose.

9. Remove 3 throttle body bolts.

10. Remove throttle body support bracket bolt (LH only).

11. Remove throttle body assembly.

12. Hold throttle lever in the wide open position. Remove throttle cable and speed control cable from throttle arm.

13. Clean mating surfaces.

14. Hold throttle lever on new throttle body in wide open position. Install throttle cable and speed control cable.

15. Install throttle body. Tighten bolts to 12 Nm (105 in. lbs.).

16. Tighten throttle body support bracket bolt to 27 Nm (240 in. lbs.) (LH only).

17. Install purge vacuum hose.

18. Install throttle cable bracket.

19. Install air plenum.

20. Install cowl plenum (LH only).

21. Install cowl screen (LH only).

22. Install wiper arms (LH only).

23. Connect negative battery cable to remote terminal.
