Catalytic Converter: Service and Repair
REMOVAL1. Raise and support vehicle.
2. Saturate the bolts and nuts with heat valve lubricant. Allow 5 minutes for penetration.

3. Remove clamps and nuts.

4. Disconnect the catalytic converter from the support hanger on the 3.9L, 5.2L and 5.9L-Light Duty engines.
5. Remove the catalytic converter.
INSTALLATION
1. Connect the support hanger on the 3.9L, 5.2L and 5.9L-Light Duty engines.
2. Assemble converter and clamps loosely to permit proper clearance with exhaust heat shields and underbody parts.
3. Tighten all clamp nuts to 54 Nm (40 ft. lbs.) torque.
4. Lower the vehicle.
5. Start the engine and inspect for exhaust leaks and exhaust system contact with the body panels. Adjust the alignment, if needed.
