Rear Sliding Window Difficult To Open, Will Not Remain Latched, And/Or Leaks Water Past The Lower Run Channel
NOTE:
THIS REPAIR IS COMPATIBLE WITH CHRYSLER'S MOBILE SERVICE PROGRAM AND DOES NOT REQUIRE HOISTS OR OTHER FULL SERVICE FACILITY SPECIAL EQUIPMENT.

1998 (BR/BE) Ram Truck
SYPTOM/CONDITION:
The rear sliding window is difficult to open, will not latch, and/or leaks water past the sliding rear window's lower run channel.
DIAGNOSIS:
1. Latch the rear sliding window. If the latch and keeper remain closed, proceed to Step 2 of diagnosis. If the latch does not remain closed, inspect the matting surfaces of the latch and keeper. If the latch and keeper are parallel, perform Repair Procedure A then, proceed to Step 2 of diagnosis. If the latch and keeper are not parallel, perform Repair Procedure B.
2. Attempt to open the rear sliding window. If the window is difficult to open or will not open, perform Repair Procedure C. If the window opens properly, proceed to Step 3 of diagnosis.
3. Close and latch the rear sliding window. Leak test the rear sliding window with a 1/2 in. stream of water from a hose poured directly onto the sliding rear window. Inspect for water leaking past the sliding rear window lower run channel. If water is leaking past the lower run channel, perform Repair Procedure D.
