NOTE:
THIS BULLETIN APPLIES TO VEHICLES EQUIPPED WITH A 41TE TRANSAXLE.

DISCUSSION:

During service diagnostic procedures, the Body Control Module (BCM) may indicate an erroneous "EATX PRNDL NOT RECEIVED" Diagnostic Trouble Code (DTC). If this DTC exists, turn the ignition to the ON position and determine if each PRNDL indicator in the instrument cluster becomes boxed (all boxed at the same time) after ten seconds. If all PRNDL indicators do NOT become boxed at the same time, the DTC is erroneous and the DTC should be cleared, it is not necessary to replace the BCM.

NOTE:
CHRYSLER HAS NOT RECEIVED ANY REPORTS OF THIS DTC BEING SET BY AN ACTUAL FAILURE IN THE PRNDL SYSTEM.
