Oil Pan: Service and Repair
REMOVAL1. Disconnect negative cable from battery.
2. Raise vehicle on hoist and drain engine oil.
3. Remove starter.
Engine Mount Bracket-Front:
4. Remove front engine mount bracket.
5. Remove engine to transaxle bending braces.
6. Remove torque converter dust shield.
7. Remove oil pan bolts.
8. Remove oil pan.
INSTALLATION
1. Clean oil pan and all gasket surfaces.
Oil pan to crankcase sealing is provided with Mopar(R) Silicone Rubber Adhesive Sealant or equivalent gasket material. See Form-In-Place Gaskets in Standard Service Information found under Engine, Service and Repair.
Oil Pan Sealing:
2. Apply sealant.
Oil Pan Screw Tightening Sequence:
3. Install pan and tighten screws to 6 Nm (50 inch lbs.) in sequence.
4. Install torque converter dust shield.
5. Install engine to transaxle bending braces.
6. Install front engine mount bracket.
7. Install starter.
8. Lower vehicle and fill engine crankcase with proper oil to correct level.
9. Connect negative cable to battery
