Door Switch: Description and Operation

SYSTEM OPERATION
The driver door jamb switch is mounted to the driver side door hinge pillar. The switch closes a path to ground for the Central Timer Module (CTM) when the driver door is opened, and opens the ground path when the driver door is closed.

The driver door jamb switch cannot be repaired and, if faulty or damaged, it must be replaced. Refer to Door Jamb Switch in the Replacement of Vehicle Theft/Security Systems for the service procedures.
