P1763 Governor Pressure Sensor Volts Too High

SYMPTOM
P-1763 GOVERNOR PRESSURE SENSOR VOLTS TOO HIGH

WHEN MONITORED
Continuously with the key on and engine running.

SET CONDITION
The voltage from the Governor Pressure Sensor is above 4.89 volts for 8.5 seconds.

POSSIBLE CAUSES
- 5-volt supply circuit open
- Governor pressure sensor ground circuit open
- Governor pressure sensor ground circuit open
- Governor pressure/temperature sensor def
- Governor press sensor signal ckt shrt to voltage
- Governor pressure sensor signal circuit open
- Governor pressure sensor signal circuit open
- Governor pressure sensor signal ckt short to V
- Trans harness/solenoid def (sig ckt > 5.0 Ohms)
- Transmission Harn/Sol assy defective (sig res)
- Governor pressure/temperature sensor def
- Powertrain control module defective (between 0.12 V & 0.80 V)
- Powertrain control module defective (Volt > 0.1 V)
- Trans harness/solenoid def (Gnd ckt > 5.0 Ohms)
- Trans harness/solenoid def (Sig ckt > 1.0 Volt)
- Transmission Harn/Sol assy defective (Gnd res)
- Transmission harness/solenoid assy defective (V)
- Governor pressure sensor wiring harness intermittent defect
- Governor pressure sensor wiring harness observable defect
- Inactive trouble code condition
