SUBJECT:
Vibration Or Grinding Noise From Front Wheel Area

OVERVIEW:
This bulletin involves replacing the front axle hub/bearing assembly(ies) and in some cases, the steering knuckle(s).

MODELS:
2000 (AN) Dakota
2000 (DN) Durango

NOTE:
THIS BULLETIN APPLIES TO 4X4 VEHICLES BUILT BEFORE AUGUST 31, 1999 (MDH 0831XX).

SYMPTOM/CONDITION:
Vibration or grinding noise coming from the front wheel area. The vibration or grinding noise may be caused by a low mileage failure (less than 100 miles of vehicle operation) of the front axle hub/bearing assembly.

DIAGNOSIS:
If the vibration or grinding noise in the front wheel area is caused by a malfunctioning front axle hub/bearing assembly, perform the Repair Procedure.
