Towing Information: Service and Repair

TOWING RECOMMENDATIONS
When it is necessary to tow a Ram Van or Wagon, the recommended method is:
- The wheel-lift method with tow dollies located under the rear wheels.
- A vehicle with flat bed hauling equipment.

SAFETY PRECAUTIONS

WARNING: TO AVOID PERSONAL INJURY, THE FOLLOWING PRECAUTIONS SHOULD BE FOLLOWED WHEN PREPARING FOR AND DURING A VEHICLE TOWING OPERATION:

- If the vehicle is damaged, secure the loose and protruding parts.
- Always use a safety chain system that is independent of the lifting and towing equipment.
- Make sure that none of the towing equipment comes in contact any part of the fuel system (fuel cylinders, fuel lines, and accompanying shields).
- No one, including the operator, should be under a vehicle while it is being lifted by the towing equipment.
- Do not allow passengers to remain in a vehicle while it is being towed.
- Observe all state and local laws involving warning signals, night illumination, speed, etc.

TOWING-REAR END LIFTED

WARNING: DUE TO THE MOUNTING CONFIGURATION OF THE FUEL CYLINDERS, FUEL LINES AND ACCOMPANYING SHIELDS, THE ATTACHMENT OF ANY TOWING EQUIPMENT TO THE REAR OF THE VEHICLE COULD DAMAGE THE CNG FUEL SYSTEM. PERSONAL INJURY COULD RESULT. NEVER ATTEMPT TO TOW THIS VEHICLE BY LIFTING THE REAR END

TOWING-FRONT END LIFTED
Front-end lifted towing, without the use of tow dollies is not recommended.

TRAILER TOWING
The trailer hitch sold by Mopar (R) is not compatible with this CNG vehicle. The installation of any after- market trailer hitch is not recommended. The only trailer towing configuration recommended is the factory installed step bumper. Follow all factory recommendations applicable to towing with a step bumper.
